Despite the innocence portrayed by the halo emoji, users often don’t use the emoji for its innocuous properties. In fact; use this emoji and you are virtually saying you are guilty. This interesting dual meaning can create some often humorous situations, especially when used to trigger your friends or relatives. Let’s say you have eaten the last biscuit in the cupboard; you pretty much know your friend would be looking for this biscuit but you go ahead anyway. Your friend returns, finds the biscuit box empty and immediately messages and accuses you. Now in this situation, you could pretend that you didn’t eat it and escape the wrath of your friend. Or you could wind them up with a statement like: No it wasn’t me 😇 In a non accusatory situation, the emoji can be used to show that you will be on your best behaviour for something, that you can keep a secret or that you are intimately inexperienced.
