This emoji can be used in a number of different situations, from showing affection to someone you like, to indicating something is cute. It can also be used to comfort someone who is feeling sad or unhappy. Often the emoji is effective all by itself, but you can accompany the face with text to increase the power of the message. In the case of comfort, you could say something like: It’s going to be okay 🤗 If you’re using the Hugging face to react to something cute or to signify that something is indeed cute, then once again this emoji is perfectly capable of being used by itself. In the case of something particularly adorable (like a puppy or something), you could accompany the emoji with some text like: That is totally adorbs 🤗

Approved as part of Unicode 8.0, the Hugging face was later added to Emoji 1.0. Unicode 8.0 also included several other popular emojis including the Thinking Face.
